March 8, 2018 from 10am-1pm
Student Center Ballroom
You are cordially invited to attend Celebrating Teaching Day on March 8, 2018! Celebrating Teaching Day is an annual event hosted by the Center for Teaching and Learning that honors and celebrates the dedication of Georgia Tech faculty and instructors who create engaging, challenging and supportive learning experiences for their students throughout the year.
During the program, Georgia Tech colleagues will share their personal stories of how they’ve encountered challenges, made mistakes, persevered, and moved forward towards their goals. Each of these speakers participated in a GTREET storytelling workshop (January 2018) to hone their storytelling skills and craft their stories. By performing their stories at Celebrating Teaching Day, these speakers will provide us with some examples of how we might inspire our students to persevere and deal with the unexpected when it occurs.
In addition, Celebrating Teaching Day will feature a Poster Session where Georgia Tech faculty and instructors will share their recent teaching-related initiatives. In honor of International Women’s Day, we will feature posters that highlight how instructors at Georgia Tech create inclusive learning environments. Faculty and instructors who received Thank a Teacher notes, a Class of 1940 Course Survey Effectiveness Award, and/or participated in a teaching and learning community over the past year will also be recognized during the luncheon.
