Defining, Documenting, and Discussing Good Teaching
Thursday, October 27, 11am-12pm, Zoom
What does good teaching look like? How do you know it when you see it? This workshop will introduce a framework that can help your department establish a shared, research-based understanding of effective teaching for student learning. Grounded in behaviors that characterize what a good teacher does, the framework provides a common language in which to discuss and evaluate teaching. We invite you to learn more about how this framework can help you develop your teaching evaluation rubrics and identify documentation instructors can provide as evidence.
This workshop will be facilitated by Dr. Lauren Barbeau, Assistant Director of Learning and Technology at the Center for Teaching and Learning and co-author of the forthcoming book, Critical Teaching Behaviors: Defining, Documenting, and Discussing Good Teaching.
