Have you wanted to try group work but are worried about getting equal participation from all students?
Many instructors have had the experience of some students doing far too little while leaving others to do all of the work during group work projects. In this workshop, we will explore strategies for setting up group work to encourage equal participation so that students can reap all of the benefits that group work has to offer while minimizing the frustration associated with uneven participation.
This workshop is aimed at instructors with 1-2 years of experience, especially TAs. While more experienced graduate students, post-docs and faculty are welcome, all should expect a beginning level workshop.
