How are questions in the classroom regarded in your home country?  Are students encouraged to ask questions?  Do teachers enjoy answering questions?  How do teachers in your country use questions - to check comprehension, to challenge ideas, to encourage discussion?

Bring your lunch and your ideas to this brown bag discussion for international GT teaching assistants.  We will explore cultural approaches and expectations of the use of questions in teaching and learning.  We will also discuss and share ideas about answering questions as impromptu speech.  Approaches and strategies to deliver unscripted language and to build confidence will be part of this lively discussion.
