Each April, the Wellness Empowerment Center (W.E. Center) recognizes national Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). The goal of SAAM is to raise awareness about sexual violence, educate communities on how to prevent it, and highlight available support and resources for victim-survivors. The W.E. Center holds annual campus-wide events throughout the month of April that we invite the entire Georgia Tech community to participate in, including Take Back the Night.

Take Back the Night is a long-standing tradition at Georgia Tech and beyond, where survivors of sexual and relationship harm speak out by sharing personal experiences and holding a candlelight vigil to honor all victims and survivors. This year’s event is Monday, April 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the Walter G. Ehmer Theater in the John Lewis Student Center. Those who would like to submit their stories for the event can fill out this form before April 1. Survivors can choose to share their experience in person at the event or to have their story read anonymously by a volunteer.
